A little-known gem, Butterfly Valley, is situated south of Oludeniz. If you are looking for 'beauty at its best' in Turkey, you should definitely check out Butterfly Valley. In 1995, Butterfly Valley was designated as a natural reserve, effectively ending any possibility of development in the area. One of Turkey's most enchanting and picturesque bays is Butterfly Valley in Fethiye (Kelebekler Vadisi in Turkish). Since it is located on the western coast of the Gulf of Belceiz near Oludeniz, you can only get there by boat. It is suggested that you can also get there on foot; unless you are a seasoned hiker, we would not advise it.

The valley was given its alluring moniker because of the abundance of Arctiidae family tiger butterflies, which can be seen there in abundance. Beginning in early June, this valley is where you will observe the most tiger butterflies. These amazing moths can be seen in large numbers in this protected valley till the end of October. The Butterfly Valley is home to nearly all of the Mediterranean's butterfly species.
