Aquarium de Biarritz

The Biarritz Aquarium, located in the heart of Biarritz and facing the Rocher de la Vierge, welcomes you to an original seabed exploration. Fifty aquariums await you with jellyfish, octopus, and seahorses. Discover the species that live on the Atlantic coast! 

You will start your tour in front of the Bay of Biscay aquariums, where you will see seahorses, jellyfish, and octopuses, in addition to other species found along our Atlantic coast.

• Observe as the fish with bizarre patterns and contours swim right in front of your eyes: 

An incredible sight to behold is the enormous aquarium that holds 1.5 million liters of water and is home to seven distinct species of sharks, rays, barracudas, and Napoleon fish. After a journey through collections (gallery of cetaceans and Basque fishing history), you enter the turtle cave for a face-to-face encounter with Alice, the loggerhead turtle weighing 100 kg and measuring 120 cm in the shell. It will enjoy his slow, graceful swimming. A visit to the aquarium's most popular attraction, the seal pond, is highly recommended.

The building features several event spaces and a panoramic terrace that offers breathtaking views of the ocean. For your guests, magical moments await at our 50 aquariums! Guests can sip an aperitif while watching the playful seals or gazing in awe at the enormous aquatic life. An interesting topic for discussion among your staff. • The meal of seal is sure to be remembered as one of the best parts:

Every day at 10:30 and 17h, on the panoramic terrace, attend the meal seals! Watch them, then sunbathe or swim laps in the pool. Discover mangroves and mangrove trees, as well as an 11-meter-long coral reef.Twirl your eyes with the original colors and improbable shapes of fish. 

• Uncover the treasures housed in the museum:

Following an educational tour of the museum's collections, you go to the turtle and ray cave for an unexpected face-to-face encounter (gallery of cetaceans and history of fishing in the Basque Country).
