Quokka

Touted as the happiest animal, this cat-sized furry animal should not be missed. The most adorable quokkas are found in Rottnest Island where you can take a free guided walking tour. 

Koala

An itinerary in Australia is incomplete if you miss out on cuddling a koala. Head to Queensland’s Currumbin Sanctuary to spend some memorable moments holding and clicking pictures with a snuggly soft koala. 

Platypus

Kangaroos

Tasmanian devil

This carnivore, once a native of mainland Australia, is now found only in Tasmania. You can flash-sight them near the roads of Tasmania but for a guaranteed viewing, take a tour at Devils @ Cradle. 

Wombats

Meet this small and stubby marsupial native to Australia in south-eastern Australia and Tasmania. A unique feature of Wombats is the backward pouch that helps them not gather soil on their young ones while digging.
