The Semnoz mountain dominates the western shore of Lake Annecy and is part of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park. It is 15 kilometers long and reaches an elevation of 1699 meters. The Crêt de Châtillon and the Crêt de l'Aigle are its two main summits. It is a family resort par excellence, about 20 kilometers from Annecy, the Alps' Venice. With a true Alps balcony, you can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the surrounding hills and even see Mont Blanc on a clear day!
Le Semnoz has the advantage of being both a winter ski resort and a summer vacation destination. Your children can have a blast on an electric mini-kart or a sled if you arrange a mobile home rental in an Annecy campsite for a family visit to the French Alps. Mini-karts are only available to youngsters aged 3 to 10. The 850-meter-long toboggan slope is suitable for youngsters as young as three years old. Children under the age of eight, on the other hand, must be escorted by an adult. Turns, tunnels, fir tree crossings, and jumping: guaranteed excitement! On warm days, you may also stroll through the botanical, alpine garden of Maion du Semnoz and see deer and hinds in semi-freedom in the Grande Jeanne animal park.
There are various picnic sites on-site, as well as a few eateries near the slopes and mountain restaurants. Do you wish to take an amazing experience of your camping trip in the French Alps with you? Fly over Lake Annecy on your very first paragliding flight!
Its ski area includes 18 alpine ski runs, 9 cross-country ski runs, and a snowpark. Snowshoe hikes, tobogganing, and snowkite, a snow-adapted version of kitesurfing, are also options. The Semnoz is a tiny family-friendly and environmentally-friendly winter sports resort that mostly attracts local skiers. It is known locally as Le Balcon des Alpes and offers skiers hourly packages ranging from 2 to 8 hours to descend gorgeous slopes accessible to all levels. The resort is covered in natural snow and does not have snow guns.
